🛂 Don't Panic: What To Do If You Lose Your Passport

If you find yourself abroad and with a lost passport, there is a silver lining. U.S. embassies and consulates work during weekends and holidays so you are ensured immediate help. The cost to replace a lost or stolen passport is the same as renewing one:

Contact the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate in the country you're visiting as soon as possible.
File a police report unless it's within three days of your intended travel date
Bring the listed document to the consulate and ask your hotel concierge to print the necessary forms:
List to print:
- One passport photo (get it in advance to speed the process of replacing your passport)
- Identification (driver's license, an expired passport, etc.)
- Evidence of U.S. citizenship (birth certificate, photocopy of your missing passport)
- Travel itinerary (airline / train tickets)
- DS-11 Application for Passport
- DS-64 Statement Regarding a Lost or Stolen Passport

Important Note: If you report your passport lost but later recover it, your original passport is no longer valid for international travel.

🎟 New Fee to Enter into Venice, Italy

In order to mitigate the environmental impact of tourism on Venice, the city is imposing an entrance fee on certain days during high season. These fees will help fund the maintenance and preservation of Venice’s cultural sites and infrastructure. The 5 euro fee will be imposed on day visitors between 8:30 am and 4 pm.
Confirmed dates when the fee will be charged are:

June - 22, 23, 29, and 30, 2024
July - 6, 7, 13, and 14, 2024

Visitors who are lodging within the city do not need to pay the fee but must register here.
